In 2009, I opened my own restaurant—driven by passion, grit, and the dream of building something meaningful. Like many entrepreneurs, I wore every hat, including bookkeeper. With only a basic understanding of accounting, I thought I was saving money by managing the books myself. But the reality caught up quickly. My DIY approach led to costly errors and confusion. Eventually, I had to hire a professional to fix the mess—at a much higher cost than if I had done it right from the beginning. The financial strain was part of what ultimately led to my restaurant’s closure.
That painful experience was a wake-up call. I realized that business owners don’t fail for lack of passion—they falter when they don’t have the right support. Determined to help others avoid the mistakes I made, I pursued formal accounting training and turned my hard-earned lessons into a new purpose.​

My name is Phoebe Tu, and my journey into bookkeeping began where many entrepreneurs start—on the ground, running a business and juggling everything at once. With over 15 years of hands-on experience, including my own hard lessons as a former restaurant owner, I’ve seen firsthand how poor financial management can quietly unravel a great business. That experience became my turning point. I dove into accounting education and built a practice dedicated to helping business owners avoid those same pitfalls.
