Easy Bookkeeping 123 was founded from the journey of one of our executive leaders, a former struggling restaurant owner who transformed hardship into purpose. It is a story that reflects the power of resilience, learning from failure, and building stronger businesses through financial clarity.
In 2009, one of our executive team members opened a restaurant driven by passion, grit, and the dream of building something meaningful. Like many entrepreneurs, they wore every hat, including bookkeeper. With only a basic understanding of accounting, managing the books internally seemed like the practical and cost-saving decision.
However, the reality of business finance quickly set in. A DIY approach led to costly accounting errors, confusion, and operational challenges. Eventually, professional support was needed to correct the books at a significantly greater cost than if the right systems had been established from the beginning. The financial strain became one of several factors that ultimately contributed to the restaurant’s closure.
That experience became a turning point.
We recognized that many business owners do not fail because they lack passion or commitment. More often, they struggle because they lack the right financial guidance and operational support. Inspired by this realization, one of our executive leaders pursued formal accounting education and sought mentorship to strengthen her expertise, transforming hard-earned lessons into a greater purpose: helping entrepreneurs avoid the same costly mistakes.
